DUST – the Plates of the Present is a photographic installation composed between 2013 and 2018 on the initiative of French painter Thomas Fougeirol and American artist and curator Jo-ey Tang. They invited 124 artists – visual artists, musicians, writers, and filmmakers – of various nationalities to produce a series of 8 photograms each in an improvised darkroom in Ivry-sur-Seine, France. This grandiose and collective work pays tribute to a form of image that is disappearing.
